FAQ’s
How does Storm FC handle fees?
Storm FC is an Alabama Nonprofit organization. This matters, because we do not want to grow the club at the expense of players and parents. We believe competitive soccer should be accessible to athletes of any income level. As such, STORM FC are committed to keeping fees low and grow the club through donations, sponsorships, and partnerships with businesses in the community. Upon invitation to join the club, STORM FC will send an invoice with a detailed breakdown of where the fee goes, so that no one will worry about how the club fee is used.
STORM FC can confidently say we are the most affordable club in the area!
Why does STORM FC promote quality over quantity?
Storm FC strives to be the best club, not the biggest. We believe in developing players and teams to their fullest potential to succeed as players and people over the long haul. Storm FC manages growth versus coach capacity, so players receive copious amounts of individual attention from highly licensed and reputable coaches.
What is a nationally licensed coach?
A nationally licensed coach holds a ‘C’ license or higher (‘B’, ‘A’ ) from the United States Soccer Federation. The top officials at Storm FC have held a national license for over 10 years, which separates them from other clubs. License levels are verifiable through Storm FC and AYSA.
What other qualifications does Storm FC look for in their select coaches?
Storm FC strives to find professional coaches with college-level (or greater) playing backgrounds to instill those technical skills in the club’s players.
Do board members decide on player selection or team placement?
No. STORM board members are vested with the management of the club’s business affairs. STORM Coaches make all decisions on player selection and team placement.
How is team placement determined?
Teams are placed according to where they will be challenged and develop the most. At the older ages, Storm FC places teams at the highest level possible. Storm FC does not “sandbag” team placement in order to win trophies.
Why are there multiple clubs in Northeast Alabama?
Different clubs have different models, different objectives, and different ways of achieving them. It is good for the player and the game to have a choice, as any club is not always a one-size-fits-all situation. Choice and competition are for the good of the kids and the good of the game. If there were only one area club, proper development may not occur, as teams don’t compete against each other to raise the level of local area soccer. Fewer clubs can mean Fewer opportunities.
